Ami is a planning professional focused on multimodal planning, traffic/safety analysis, transit planning and feasibility, bike and pedestrian safety programs, and traffic operations and management for special events. Ami’s previous work as an interior designer inspired her to pursue a career in urban and regional planning. She is passionate about creating inviting, functional, and sustainable communities ready for the future.
In a nod to architect Eliel Saarinen, Ami believes context is key to good design and follows his ethos of each element of a design impacting its environment. This is reflected in her curiosity about the influence of land use and transportation in shaping the environment. Open-minded and collaborative, Ami sees the big-picture of projects thanks to her gaining valuable insight and experience from working in both the public and private sectors.
In her free time, Ami enjoys learning about history and culture by visiting new places. She also loves exploring national and state parks with her family.
