Within the healthcare planning sector, Dan is mostly known for leading design consultant teams in planning, design, and conformance (PDC). He directly advises sponsors (hospitals and infrastructure authorities) on the development of RFP documents, bid evaluation, and conformance tracking. He’s also worked as project manager for design, build, finance, and maintain (DBFM) projects.
In the Town of Milton, Dan worked on a redevelopment project for the Milton District Hospital. Work included a new addition with expanded emergency, diagnostic imaging, surgical, critical care, and maternal newborn services. Located in the foothills of the Niagara Escarpment, the hospital called for a master plan and building design that was strongly influenced by the community context and connection to the local landscape.
When Dan isn’t making sure his team’s projects are running smoothly, you might find him traveling with his wife, always looking for examples of inspiring, exemplary built environments. He likes to share his most recent experiences with rehabilitated urban areas in Europe, especially the innovative solutions implemented in Scandinavian countries.
