Trent’s passion is for projects with lots of moving parts, complex technical issues, logistical problems, or perhaps multiple stakeholders with varied interests. With over 9 years’ experience in consulting engineering, Trent has endless curiosity for understanding structures, risks, and safety. He relishes creating effective buildable solutions for his clients.
A recent project he is particularly proud of was the civil and structural design, and documentation of the proposed re-development of a heritage site at Church Street, Newcastle, for Nihon University. The project was challenging because it combined one of the city’s oldest heritage buildings with new structures on either side. Trent peer-reviewed the structural design and documentation works of the new buildings and designed the works to the heritage structure. Designing the interface between the new and old areas—and remediating the heritage structure to meet mine subsidence design requirements—was complex but rewarding.
In his spare time, Trent likes to leave complex problems at work and enjoys relaxing with his young family, usually at a local park, and keeping active with friends.
