Beyond design, Michael sees architecture as communication. What does a structure say about the client, and what does it say to the occupants, users, and visitors? What does it say to the larger community? Michael is proud to bring exceptional communication and representation skills to project design teams, providing sensitive and innovative responses to client goals.
He has a passion for the inventive integration of building form and environmental performance and has been a key design team member on several notable high-performance building projects including net zero energy, LEED v.4, and LEED Platinum certified projects. A versatile designer, he has experience with project types including educational facilities, campus master plans, workplaces, transportation facilities, and residences.
Clients come to know Michael as a trusted collaborator and imaginative problem solver on projects that transform institutions, neighborhoods, campuses, and companies. He has worked on numerous award-winning projects including American Institute of Architects (AIA) regional and national awards, including an AIA Honor Award. Excited for the future of architecture, he is proud to have also taught the profession at the university level.
