Dave leads a specialized team in delivering infrastructure planning, management and solutions-development for drainage and wet utility challenges in the urban environment. At the front-end of multi-million-dollar capital planning, he finds it rewarding to help clients conceptualize and ‘optioneer’ solutions that support prudent and transparent decision-making.
While with the City of Toronto, he was at the ground-floor of the Basement Flooding Protection Program rollout. Moving back to consulting, he continues to support and drive the evolution of the program, completing over 16 study areas and authoring the City’s inaugural Modeling Guidelines. Dave has translated this experience into helping other municipalities assess and address their own urban drainage challenges.
While the results of his projects are rarely seen above-ground, he appreciates the hidden beauty below. Dave doesn’t miss the chance to snap a photo of unique drainage features wherever he travels (check out the #drainspotting hashtag on social media for drain-related posts from Dave and others).
