Merging her love of numbers and data with her love of the outdoors, Laura has devoted her career to protecting human health and the environment through a range of projects. She’s done everything from small due diligence field events to full-scale remedial investigations, remedy oversight, and site management to conceptual and numerical groundwater modeling.
Diversity of clients, complexity of environmental issues, and unpredictable site conditions create the challenges Laura thrives with. Stantec’s investigation and proposed clean-up of the 820 Linden Avenue Brownfield Site in Pittsford, New York, has provided many challenges and surprises. Laura was part of the project beginnings and is enjoying seeing it progress, through initial vapor intrusion investigation, Phase II and remedial investigation, interim remedial measures, and reporting. The investigation also unearthed a historical septic system into which chemical waste was formerly discharged.
When Laura is not at work, she’s living her belief that nature heals all—you’ll find her spending time outside soaking up the limited sun Rochestarians get, alongside her beloved German Shepherd dog, Lulu.
