As a senior maritime engineer, Ali oversees the structural and geotechnical design of a range of maritime structures such as jetties, seawalls, wharves, pontoons, and breakwaters. Coastal conditions are complex and ever-changing—the challenge is what draws him to this type of work. He brings fresh thinking to solve problems and overcome obstacles, and finds practical, effective solutions that focus on safety and durability.
Ali designs safe, high-performing, and sustainable structures that serve communities, keep coastal areas safe, and facilitate maritime activities. By incorporating robust design principals and focusing on environmental consciousness, he can help to protect those who use the structures, reduce ecological impacts, and protect marine ecosystems.
When he’s not designing resilient coastal infrastructure, Ali is passionate about dramatic literature, theatre, and cinema. He’s experienced in playwriting and has even had the opportunity to direct a short narrative film.
