Creating a modern, safe, and secure commute for Rooty Hill residents
When it comes to designing future stations, accessibility is a top priority. But what about existing stations? To bring designs up to modern standards, Transport for NSW has been delivering the Transport Access Program (TAP) throughout the state providing customers with accessible, secure, and integrated transport infrastructure. Arenco, working on behalf of Transport for NSW, reached out to our team to help update Rooty Hill Station.
The Rooty Hill Station and multi-storey carpark upgrade included replacing the existing footbridge that spans from North Parade to Beames Avenue, lifts, canopies on platforms, and raising platforms to stop them falling towards the tracks. Our services included the structural design for the new pedestrian footbridge, geotechnical investigations, and modifications to existing transport interchanges. To keep commuters connected, our team worked closely with Arenco to complete work during a specific timeframe—and we delivered. How? By using precast panels and members constructed offsite that could easily be lifted into place by cranes.
With the work now complete, these upgrades help make the journey easier and safer for Rooty Hill commuters.
