Designing a state-of-the-art office with flexible working spaces
When Brookfield Rail relocated from Welshpool to the third floor of the Bravo Building—a four-storey building close to the Perth airport—they wanted a collaboratively-delivered office design that matched their aesthetic. That aesthetic? Iron ore rail lines. They hired us to provide a streamlined service for the office fit-out to meet a tight deadline.
One enticing feature was operable walls on the top floor, but to implement these partitions on the third floor, our structural team had to mount them to roof trusses. This meant that our acoustic team was unable to erect full height partitions, so they designed a “lid” to achieve acoustic performance. The base building infrastructure was returned to an empty floor plate and then modified to suit Brookfield's requirements with air conditioning, meeting rooms, feature lighting, breakout rooms, and the fire engineering design.
By using a single point of contact service model, our team provided one consultant to coordinate additional disciplines as needed. They attended meetings, channeled communications, and trimmed costs for Brookfield. Combined with our up-front engagement to fast-track the interrogation of the brief, Brookfield Rail received an office fit-out that reflected their brand and aesthetic with time before their move to spare.
