Over the two decades Phillip has been consulting in transport modelling, he has become passionate about using his programming skills to automate processes to save time and reduce errors. He has worked with and gained a detailed knowledge of numerous programming languages as well as extensive geographic information system (GIS) knowledge and transport modelling using microsimulation, mesoscopic, and strategic modelling packages.
Phillip has worked on a range of transport and traffic projects including upgrades to the Bruce Highway, leading the team in developing an interactive multi-zoning tool of the Brisbane Strategic Transport Model (BSTM). He also worked with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to help code future road networks for the Greater Brisbane Strategic Multi-Modal Transport Model.
When not at work building complex mathematical models, Phillip enjoys a more old-fashioned form of modelling—building model timber boats—and spending time with his family.
