Protecting and enhancing the environment

We’ve developed nature-based solutions that enhance ecosystem services and seek to realise wider benefits to our communities all over the world. Our multidisciplinary and multi-sector specialists can help you with biodiversity net gain, natural capital accounting, integrated catchment management, and more.

Do you need a constructed wetland, wildlife corridor, or planting scheme? We use robust scientific evidence to inform our advice and support our multidisciplinary assessments, including habitat assessments, environmental and social impact assessments, and wildlife assessments. These inform our green infrastructure solutions and integrate biodiversity net gain into your project.

We can also give you strategic guidance on how to create effective and considered multi-functional greenspaces that can improve your commercial viability, long-term profitability, and enhance brand reputation.

Nature-based solutions like these are at the heart of our sustainability and carbon reduction strategies—and we’re passionate about helping you achieve your net zero ambitions and reduce the impact your projects have on our natural environment.

Demonstrating how supporting biodiversity and healthy environments is not only good for nature—it’s good for the bottom line.

Landscape design and planting schemes

Our Landscape Architecture team designs green spaces that incorporate nature-based solutions to support community health and wellbeing, biodiversity net gain, and climate change resilience. Our planting schemes emphasise the right plant, right place concept to provide both visual interest and ecological value. Read More

Biodiversity net gain assessments

We collaborate to deliver innovative ways to mitigate environmental impacts and enhance the resiliency of our communities. Our biodiversity net gain assessments are an important part of early-stage feasibility and the design and planning process. We help our clients and consultees to understand the constraints and opportunities associated with baseline biodiversity conditions, to deliver best outcomes for post-development plans and potential impacts.

Ecological impact assessments

Our ecological consultants specify and coordinate baseline ecological surveys. Combining these results with other environmental data and scheme information, we identify potential impacts and determine practical mitigation solutions. The key to success? Collaboration with your team and consultation with relevant stakeholders. We can provide the final impacts and mitigation solutions—including biodiversity net gain considerations—within ecological impact assessment reports or ecological chapters of environmental statements.

Habitats regulations assessments (HRA)

Our team undertakes both plan and project level assessments where European protected sites may be affected, always completing to best practice and with regard to recent legal precedent. As appropriate, the HRA is complemented by additional assessments in lighting, flood risk, nutrient neutrality, and air quality.
