Rowan is a recent graduate who is excited to be working on urban development projects with a focus on sustainability. Currently with our Cambridge UK team, he enjoys the challenges of providing rapid delivery of new housing while ensuring the local environment is protected. Rowan believes taking a holistic view is the key through lower carbon applications for everything from materials to the urban plan itself contributing to lessening environmental impacts.
He strives to create work that he can be proud of on projects which will improve the day-to-day of people’s lives who live in and around these areas. He enjoys working collaboratively with others, feeling it helps draw the best from him. Currently, he is working on the implementation of “active travel” infrastructure design using the principles of the Suffolk Design Guide, to move away from car-centric infrastructure design as set out in its Movement Framework. He is proud to be applying those principles on projects like Waterbeach and Stamford North where he is helping create iconic, long-term, sustainable urban communities.
Outside of work, he is a passionate field hockey player, regularly playing competitively in the local league season, and recreationally in summer.
