James has worked on bridge and civil structure schemes for almost 20 years, developing a wide breadth of experience within highway and rail industry sectors. A recent highlight for him has been leading the design of Christchurch Footbridge in Reading and seeing the beneficial impact this new piece of landmark infrastructure has had on the local community.
His experience covers the full range of design, construction, and assessment of highway and rail bridges as well as other structures and general civil engineering works. His current focus is leading multidisciplinary design teams to successfully deliver complex infrastructure schemes. James has recently led a scheme to design a new road and underpass structure under the M4 motorway with an emphasis on the construction sequencing and pragmatic buildability within a live motorway environment.
When he isn’t at work, James loves getting outside—cycling with his children or taking on home improvement projects.
