David is an architect who has led the design for many of our award-winning healthcare, research, and education projects across the globe. He’s particularly interested in design which creates a memorable sense of place while promoting a sense of clarity, optimism, and engagement. He believes the built environment can and should enrich peoples’ lives.

David’s work responds to context by enhancing cohesion with surroundings and strives to fully connect functional requirements with formal expression. This way, architecture becomes the backdrop for positive experiences and interaction while reflecting the rich contributions that occupants and visitors make to society.

Recent notable projects include the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at the University of British Columbia, the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research for Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar, and the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre.

Focusing on translational medicine and research facilities, David looks forward in his industry by staying up to date on fields such as biomimicry and biophilic design as well as the impacts of interdisciplinary environments. He’s made a number of presentations at various events and conferences exploring “science in the age of the invisible.”
