As a seasoned risk manager who has worked across the IT, construction, and infrastructure sectors, John has experience in systems engineering and project and programme management. He gained his experience through working in the defence electronics, IT, and outsourcing sectors, where he regularly recovered challenging scenarios. He has worked on engagements for UK and overseas armed forces, and for private and public sector clients in the UK and Middle East (Saudi Arabia).
John’s straightforward approach can be summarised by his three objectives for risk management: to optimise delivery through neutralising threats and exploiting opportunities, to forecast delivery using statistical modeling of schedule and cost, and to advance organisation delivery maturity through the reuse information between engagements. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and is a chartered physicist and member of the Institute of Physics. As well, he holds project management professional certification as a member of the Project Management Institute.
When he’s not working as a portfolio risk manager, John is a keen photographer and is a licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society.
