A chartered structural engineer, Martin leads the UK Building’s team. His key interests? Efficient structure design, advanced building analysis, and sustainable design. He’s highly experienced in the project control of structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering designs for building developments, and he has client-side project management experience in high-profile buildings such as the Foster & Partners award-winning McLaren Technology Centre, UK.
Martin leads the industry as partner to the University Technical College Reading, nationally rated as “outstanding.” He sits on the college’s board of governors, advising on curriculum, and helps to coordinate apprenticeship and project experience for students. He’s vice chair of The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Learning Construction Route Panel and a former chairman of the IStructE Thames Region Committee.
At home, Martin is able to share his passion for educational development with his wife, who is a teacher. And these days, when he isn’t in the office, you’ll probably find Martin working on the renovation and extension of his house.
