Ben is a highly experienced chartered electrical engineer with extensive knowledge of the electricity generation, transmission, and distribution sectors. His previous experience includes techno-economic analysis of early-stage energy projects, capital project delivery, network operations, smart grid innovation, and energy sector business development.
Leading the delivery of complex smart energy projects within our Renewables and Utilities team, Ben is responsible for our 'behind the meter’ (microgrid) and eMobility service offering across the United Kingdom. He also leads electric vehicle (EV) projects that use our StratEV suite of software tools.
Ben’s role encompasses renewable energy, energy storage, local energy systems, data analytics and the Internet of Things (IoT). His approach to smart energy focuses on improving commercial value through tradeable assets, creating resilient power supplies, overcoming capacity constraints, and reaching decarbonisation goals with renewable technologies.
Away from his work on smart energy, Ben is happiest in the mountains or on the coast—he loves running or mountain biking on remote trails, climbing, back-country skiing, and swimming in the sea.
