A chartered civil engineer, James has over 15 years’ experience with various dam, hydropower, and clean water projects. From early work on clean water projects that included reservoirs, raw water pumping stations, and UV treatment, he moved to our Waterpower and Dams team, focusing initially on small hydropower projects.
James worked in Ethiopia for over two years as chief dam engineer on the Genale Dawa III, 254 MW hydropower project, also serving for a period as chief engineer on the whole site. Since returning to the UK, James has worked primarily on a hydropower projects, including the Tummel Replanting scheme (34MW)—developing civil detailed design, coordinating civil and electromechanical design interfaces with the client and providing site support activities. He’s also a member of the design review team on the Koysha hydropower project (2,160 MW) in Ethiopia.
Outside work, James is an enthusiastic (if not always very good!) sportsman. He’s a member of a local cricket team, plays weekly in a social dodgeball league in London and enjoys running, cycling, and swimming.
