Stantec, a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting, has been appointed to Northern Ireland Water’s IF182 Professional Services Framework. The international firm will build on its existing relationship with the Government owned company and is positioned to provide a range of interdisciplinary support services.
Northern Ireland Water delivers drinking water to approximately 840,000 households and businesses. It collects, treats, and disposes of around 362 million litres of wastewater per day across the province.
Following a competitive qualification and tender process, Stantec can expand upon the existing range of services provided via specialist teams in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and around the world to help Northern Ireland Water deliver its critical projects and programmes. The Professional Services Framework runs for an initial four years with options to extend for a further four years.
Stantec will help Northern Ireland Water to optimise its expenditure, increase efficiency, and minimise its environmental impact through close partnership working and consultancy. Stantec will provide a range of project management, design, environmental, and advisory services to help maintain and refurbish Northern Ireland Water’s existing assets, while identifying areas for more innovative approaches such as nature-based solutions.
Stantec is also expected to carry out appraisal, feasibility, and optioneering projects to include sewerage and water networks, as well as providing advisory services for business planning and investment management.
Through the Professional Services Framework, Northern Ireland Water intends to build long-term relationships founded on effective collaboration, seeking integrated and shared solutions to deliver long term benefits and reduce disruption to communities.
As part of the Living With Water Programme’s integrated ‘One Team’, Stantec is already engaged on Northern Ireland Water’s IF106 Major Projects and Partnerships Framework, working on both the North Foreshore and Belfast Treatment Works refurbishment projects. Stantec will build on its established success with Northern Ireland Water, providing a highly engaged, skilled, and innovative workforce.
“Stantec is proud to have secured a position on the Professional Services Framework, which will augment the industry leading services we are already delivering. We recognise the challenges faced and look forward to drawing upon our extensive expertise to provide fresh, innovative client-centric solutions in the most sustainable and efficient way. In doing so, we will support communities and help deliver economic growth,” said Mark Carlisle, Stantec’s regional director for Water in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The news follows several recent multi-year framework wins and new office openings by Stantec on the island of Ireland. The company is undergoing a significant recruitment campaign, as it appeals to design and engineering professionals seeking to make a positive impact on local projects that redefine what is possible for clients and communities.
