COVID-19: Keeping community in mind – a message for our clients
We understand that as a valued client, you will have questions and concerns in relation to COVID-19 and the impact that this may have on the way in which we deliver our services to you. We want to reassure you that we at Stantec stand alongside you during this challenging time.
Since the beginning of the larger public conversation on the COVID-19 issue, Stantec’s long-established Pandemic Committee has been actively monitoring the spread of the coronavirus and securing guidance from global health authorities. The committee brings together a diverse team of experts ranging from operational health and safety leaders to a public health toxicologist from within our environmental services practice.
The Pandemic Committee has been working over recent years to develop a robust health and safety plan in the event of a scenario like we are currently seeing unfold and we are now working hard to execute their plans. We understand that this is a challenging time for our clients and wish to update you on the steps we are taking to maintain the highest level of service possible and to safeguard your interests.
We are following Government advice to manage the risks of Coronavirus, protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and to maintain our business operations. All our offices are closed and we have put in place the infrastructure and processes needed to enable our teams to continue to work remotely. As part of our business continuity plan, we have developed a robust IT infrastructure to support this way of working, and we are ready to continue working effectively for you.
We are also minimising our off-site travel in line with government advice, there is clearly a level of operational infrastructure necessary to keep our communities safe and well, and we shall continue to support that. Other offsite works are being reviewed on a case by case basis with clients to ensure we are doing what is necessary and appropriate.
We are aware that, whilst the majority of our work can be carried out remotely, there may be scenarios where onsite working is business-critical. We are diligently working to review existing safety plans to put appropriate additional safety measures in place so that, where necessary, we can continue to deliver our services in these circumstances.
This is a challenging and evolving situation. We are keen to support all our clients through this pandemic and are keen to play a part in helping you manage the increased risk and challenges in delivering projects. We are listening to our staff, government, industry and, of course, you, our valued clients to balance competing needs and address the anxiety and concerns as they arise. Please be assured that we will continue to listen and act in the best interests of all, and feel free to get in touch on any matters of concern that you might have.
Thank you for your continued support. We send you, your staff, your customers and all their families our very best wishes.
