A risk-based runway approach to site visits during COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has inevitably brought restrictions on gathering site related information and fieldwork required to progress infrastructure projects across all sectors. Stantec’s design and engineering teams have worked with our clients to assess project information needs and design risks within this restricted environment to develop a runway approach by which any barriers to gathering information can be mitigated and managed. 

The guidance we have created enables all parties to engage proactively with a ‘can-do’ approach to progressing projects whilst taking an appropriate view on risk and ensuring technical governance is maintained.
