Creating Garden Communities

Whilst the Government has been supporting garden settlements as one answer to the housing crisis, we wanted to investigate what is a ‘garden settlement’? How does it differ from the original vision of a garden city, and what does this tell us about how to deliver better new communities? We hope to contribute to a better understanding of how garden style communities can provide sustainable places where people want to live, work and play — as well as contribute to meeting future housing needs in this brochure.
