Hawkes Bay City Council’s road assets just got easier to manage
Roading Asset Maintenance Management, or RAMM, is a database that was first designed for New Zealand’s National Transit Authority in the early 1990s. While it was initially created for road asset management, it manages so much more today. Hawkes Bay Council needed to understand and extract key information from the database for decision making, so they called on our multidisciplinary experts for assistance to create a user-friendly dashboard.
When it comes to asset management, RAMM stores, values, and holds conditions, allowing us to work on, programme, and eventually retire the city’s roading assets—everything from rubbish bins to major road upgrades. This extensive web database is easily accessible and links into multiple council systems such as geographic information system mapping, financial, and customer service systems to output data. That’s a lot of data to work with. So, we developed an intuitive dashboard, pulling the required data into dependable, easy-to-follow visual diagrams and graphs—creating a bird’s eye view for informed decision making.
Systems like this one optimise Council’s spending by helping leaders see the bigger picture, not only saving time, but also investing in the community’s needs efficiently.
