Hotel Indigo Auckland

Combining past and present to create a luxury experience

Helping our client bring the first Hotel Indigo to New Zealand

Among one of Auckland’s tallest buildings, and located in a coveted central city location, Hotel Indigo Auckland is New Zealand’s first ‘Hotel Indigo’ by IHG, a hotels and resorts company. Dating back to 1912, this boutique hotel has a 41-storey tower that sits within a Class B listed heritage façade.

We were commissioned to carry out the ground level, level one and partial level two base build, design, and fitout works. The design phases consisted of concept and detailed design, building consent for construction, and construction monitoring. Working within a client-driven, accelerated timeframe, our team provided mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineering services. We also supplied fire protection and building information modelling (BIM) assistance.

Collaborating with colleagues across Australia and India, our team kept pace with the programme timetable. This focussed and motivated strategy resulted in positive feedback from the project managers—they were particularly impressed with how we managed changing client requirements and tight design deadlines.

When complete, this result of this project will be a unique 4.5-star hotel that blends its past and present together into a modern, lifestyle brand hotel and luxury residential apartment building.
