There is nothing Alasdair enjoys more than the challenge and opportunity to make improvements to the transport network. He's responsible for producing railway crossing safety impact assessments, transport assessments for private development, construction traffic management reports and road safety audits across public and private sectors.
As a railway crossing specialist, he helps clients provide safe passage for pedestrians or vehicles crossing the track. Recently he provided his expertise as a member of a team helping Auckland Transport upgrade pedestrian rail crossings through the Auckland metro area. The result? Incident numbers are down at specific locations thanks to their recommendations.
For Alasdair, crossings are more than a physical intersection; they're where the interests of people, business and councils meet. He applies his ability to see the big picture to reach better solutions for all.
Outside of work he likes to take scenic walks or relax with a good book, including his favourite, The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie.
