Jim works at the front end of water, wastewater and stormwater projects and plays a critical role in strategic thinking and business development.
His strength is 'big picture', integrated and sustainable thinking that clients, their communities, and fellow professionals value. He's really good at taking complicated technical matters and communicating them in interesting and accessible ways to non-technical people, making Jim one of our clients' most sought-after experts.
Project highlight? It's hard to pin down in a career that's lasted more than 50 years. His most memorable were the audit of Antarctica NZ's environmental programme; a life-after-waste assessment for Waste Management Institute of NZ; and helping Hastings District Council with its wastewater treatment and discharge scheme, described as an historic accord in terms of the relationship with tangata whenua (local indigenous people).
Outside of work Jim enjoys his family, garden, and playing golf.
The University of Canterbury administers the Stantec Jim Bradley Scholarship which honours his dedication to environmental, civil and natural resources engineering.
