Stantec and WSP commissioned to design Hope Bypass

Stantec, in partnership with WSP, has been appointed by NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) to deliver the detailed design for State Highway 6 Hope Bypass. Both infrastructure consultancies have strong experience in complex transport projects and are well positioned to deliver an integrated, multidisciplinary design approach.

The project is a key component of the Government’s Roads of National Significance programme and will help improve travel times, safety, and network reliability across the Nelson Tasman region.

Stantec Regional Director for Transport Wayne Juno says the team is proud to bring its technical expertise to a project with such significant regional impact.

The detailed design programme includes specialist assessments such as geotechnical investigations, noise assessments and other statutory requirements that will support the pathway to construction. NZTA aims to have detailed design completed by mid-2027.
