The process is as important as the project when navigating a complex regulatory environment, we have the map and the compass.
In the US, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of their proposed actions prior to making decisions. Using the NEPA process, agencies evaluate the environmental—and related social and economic effects of their proposed actions.
So, when the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) proposed a rate change, we provided the appropriate NEPA services for our client. Under this contract for the TVA, we provided environmental and NEPA services contributing to an economic development grant and documentation support for the socioeconomics section of an environmental assessment for a TVA proposed rate change. We’re proud to serve the TVA in a broad range of specialized services, including surveys, assessments, reporting, and permitting for resource areas including: surface water, floodplains and wetlands; vegetation, wildlife, endangered species, and aquatic plants; cultural resources; air quality, noise, and visual resources; groundwater, geology, and hazardous wastes; socio-economic and environmental justice and land uses; and, transportation.
With both a deep knowledge of TVA policies and of NEPA processes, we are able to provide technical teams with experience managing all types of NEPA projects, and in-depth knowledge of requirements for all types of NEPA documentation.
