We transformed an abandoned airfield to provide clean, renewable energy to the surrounding community
When the state of Maine sought our help implementing a new initiative to provide renewable energy through solar installations in Lancaster, we brought the State’s goal to fruition through repurposing a former airfield. 20,000 Trina Solar modules cover 26 acres in this ground-mount, fixed tilt solar photovoltaic, approximately 6 Megawatt, project.
In addition to engineering services, our team also provided construction oversight to monitor environmental compliance, and monitored installation for compliance with the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Services’ contractor’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan as well as compliance with our client’s permitted engineering design plans. Also, as part of the owner’s representative services, we represented EDF Renewables Inc. during meetings with private home owners on adjacent property, town officials, and interconnecting utilities providers. Additionally, our Independent Engineer review of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Services installation supported financing of this project.
This site reached commercial operation upon completion in 2014 and provides clean, renewable energy to the surrounding community.
