Installing heavy reinforcements to meet the regional standards in southern California
The Grubb Gas Plant had a new opportunity—they had additional gas coming to their plant. But that also meant that if they wanted to expand and sell their product to the Southern California Gas Company (SCGC), they’d have to comply with SCGC Rule 30.
SCGC Rule 30 states that natural gas liquids (NGL) need to be removed and sweetened—taking out hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. To accomplish this, we install some heavy reinforcements: gas sweetening systems, NGL removal systems, pipelines, NGL storage vessels, truck loading racks, and an SCGC meter station.
This design converts raw natural gas to pipeline quality natural gas at a rate of 4.5 million cubic feet per day. Once converted, the gas is shipped by pipeline to the SCGC pipes. It’s then used as low-emission natural gas in power plants.
