Working with the community to restore and support school facilities

Deferred maintenance needs can only be put off for so long. The Brighton community recognized this and banded together to support their community schools.

With our unique assessment process and national facilities benchmarking tool, our team developed a facilities condition index. This helped us better understand and communicate the taxpayer’s investment required to upgrade and maintain the Brighton Area Schools facilities. Following a successful campaign, the school district passed an $88.5 million bond to address facility updates.

A number of district athletic facilities benefitted from the bond—the high school got a stadium upgrade and the middle school got a new track and field. The local athletes have upgraded tennis courts and baseball fields, and the high school now has a new swimming pool. Additional infrastructure upgrades included paving, roofing, energy work, HVAC, and more.
