Bundaberg Aquatic Centre

The sound of water splashing will be a daily occurrence when the architecturally designed Bundaberg Aquatic Centre opens in 2025. We were engaged by the Bundaberg Regional Council as the principal consultant to complete the detailed design—including management of the architect, aquatic engineer, landscape architect, and others in the initial phase. Groundwork started in November 2022 on this major community infrastructure investment.

Led by Megan Kraft from our Wide Bay office, our teams provided a wide scope of services from stormwater modeling, traffic impact studies, geotechnical, and contaminated land assessments, to the civil design plus building services and structural engineering. All pools, rooms, and leisure areas are designed for equitable access for ease of movement through the precinct. Three pools, a covered 50 metre 10-lane FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation) standard design, an indoor 25 metre eight-lane pool, and a learn-to-swim and health program indoor pool are all heated for use all year round.

Originally working as the principal consultant to provide detailed design, we’ve been engaged to support our client in the construction phase through design support, certification, and managing all the sub consultants on the project. We’re proud to be part of a lasting project for the community.
