Growing up around the ocean, Brook made up her mind at a young age to study marine biology. After graduation, she joined a small engineering and environmental firm where she learned just how vast and diverse environmental consulting can be. Over two decades later, she’s a senior associate and environmental scientist with extensive experience in permitting, analysis, monitoring, and assessments.
One of her favorite projects to date was the Districtwide (on-call) Wildlife, Mitigation, and Environmental Services Support Contract for the Florida Department of Transportation District 4. Consisting of dozens of environmental task work orders, the contract covered a range of natural resource concerns including surveys for endangered and threatened species, benthic surveys, and freshwater wetland delineations. The main goal was to identify, delineate, and minimize impacts as much as possible.
When she isn’t busy working on her latest environmental project, Brook enjoys going to the beach with her two young sons who are learning to snorkel. She enjoys watching their progress and looks forward to continue teaching them about the marine environment.
