April has always had big dreams and a knack for math and science, making an engineering career feel like a natural fit. Today, nearly 15 years later, as a principal and senior project engineer, she loves being challenged to find new ways of translating structured and systematic technical knowledge into smart and efficient geotechnical solutions for her clients.
Diverse experience in laboratory testing, concrete gravity dam design, foundations, advanced soil mechanics, and groundwater and seepage analysis has made April a technical expert in designing and evaluating the stability of coal ash disposal facilities, seismic engineering, and potential failure mode analysis (PFMA). April also enjoys mentoring young engineers and helping their careers grow. Her emphasis on putting people first has been key to projects like Plant Hammond, a coal-fired power plant in Georgia, where she served as project manager for the plant’s ash ponds decommissioning.
When she’s not providing technical expertise and guidance, April can be found spending time with her family or reading.
