Rory’s blend of design flair and planning expertise makes him a driving force in providing transportation systems that allow for safe and practical mobility for everyone. His experience ranges from leading award-winning micromobility design competitions to crafting unique solutions for complex intersections.
Seamlessly merging visionary design with practical engineering, Rory has an innovative touch that’s evident throughout his work. This includes demonstration projects like the Complete Streets Makeover Program, analysis of complex intersections throughout Boston, ADA-compliant pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure for Rochester’s Main Street, and safety studies for NYSDOT. His strategic insights have also supported MassDOT in securing vital grant funding for pandemic-responsive placemaking.
Rory believes that to design streets, engineers and planners need to experience the street from the user perspective. Knowing this, he has made the switch from a car-centric lifestyle to one that supports multi-modal trips. You can usually find him riding his bike when commuting to work, visiting friends, and enjoying what cities have to offer.
