With over 40 years of experience in the geo-environmental engineering field serving the mining industry, Bing’s responsibilities center around providing good quality deliverables to meet and exceed client expectations. He has particular experience with tailings and water management, as well as implementation of mitigation and remedial measures, under various climatic conditions from permafrost to desert to tropical rainforest in over 25 different countries.
One of Bing’s most rewarding projects to date was The Centinela Mining District Development Project for Antofagasta Minerals S.A., in Chile. As the owner’s independent senior engineer, he was responsible for review of tailings storage facility and waste disposal designs for the proposed Esperanza Sur and Encuentro Sulfuros Copper Deposits developments. The use of both English and Spanish during project execution provided him with a uniquely rewarding experience.
When he isn’t busy with his latest mining projects, you’ll find Bing in search of art and antiques to add to his ever-growing collection and learning all he can about their backstories and histories.
