With a bachelor's degree and master's degree in civil engineering, Vanessa has more than 12 years of experience as an engineer specialized in civil engineering structures. She is particularly interested in several aspects of bridge engineering, including supervision, inspection, and design.
Vanessa has taken part in several structural reconstruction and repair projects, many of which have been public-private partnership (P3) projects. Most notably, she has served as site supervisor at various construction sites in Quebec, as auditor for the Highway 30 P3 project in Quebec and the SH288 toll lane project in Texas, and as designer for repairs to the Turcot Interchange in Montreal. She recently served as discipline lead and designer for a bridge in Ontario built with engineered wood.
Every day, Vanessa leverages the communication and leadership skills she acquired from the Canadian Army Cadets. Disciplined and organized, she completed her master's degree while working and playing on the Université de Montréal’s Carabins women’s rugby team.
