Working with our team in Ottawa, Saeed is a senior structural engineer with over 30 years of experience in his field. His background includes leading structural design teams for high-rise and large-scale projects, such as his most recent major project, the Royal Atlantis Resort in Dubai that is now under construction.
Saeed designed high-rise projects in high-seismic areas that include supplemental damping systems. Saeed holds a US patent on the effective usage of damping systems for building and non-building structures. This is a significant invention due to the level of energy dissipation that can be achieved, often with lower costs than traditional design methods. Saeed believes in learning—both for himself and the next generation—and using knowledge to develop better solutions within the built environment. Mentoring junior engineers to help them achieve their goals is important to him.
In his free time, Saeed enjoys reading and watching videos on a variety of subjects including physics, philosophy, and astronomy.
