Growing up, Javier always admired his father’s ability to analyze situations and find solutions by following a logical thinking structure. He decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and became an engineer as well. He’s since worked on mine waste and mine water management, water resources and environmental assessments, and closure planning for mining projects and operations in Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Central and North America.
In his role as technical project leader, Javier supports discipline leaders and focuses on achieving the technical objectives of a project. One of his most memorable projects was designing waste rock facilities for a large copper mine in Antamina, Peru, the first of many projects with this client. He enjoyed the opportunity to interact with a variety of professionals and carry out the project under quite demanding conditions.
When he isn’t providing engineering guidance on mine related projects, you’ll find Javier practicing open water swimming and other sports, listening to music or attending live music shows, and spending time with his children.
