Simon provides technical leadership on water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects, informing multidisciplinary teams on smaller projects and on larger projects where teams are split into discipline groups, Simon focuses purely on the mechanical. His specialty is in wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) implementation and he’s worked on designs for new and upgraded plants around New Zealand (NZ).
His work has a material benefit for our communities by providing secure sources of clean drinking water and disposing of waste products in a way that aims to minimise environmental impact.
Greymouth WWTP is a standout project: the first for Greymouth wastewater, it signifies NZ’s progression towards improving the water quality of our streams and rivers. Simon was excited to work on its design and construction execution—he got to see first-hand construction of the treatment plant that had previously only existed as a vision in words and drawings.
Simon’s a keen tramper, photographer, and mountain biker in his spare time.
