Passionate about mentorship and teaching, Timo combines more than 30 years of experience in civil and structural engineering with 9 years as a university professor. With this mix of skillsets, he applies the theories he teaches to practical work, pushing limits to uncover new ways to tackle engineering challenges.
Timo specializes in non-linear analysis of steel and concrete structures, finite element analysis, headframe structures, shaft design, and shaft steel design. He also spent four years working as a civil engineering technologist on large construction projects—construction supervising, surveying, inspecting, and drafting. While working full-time as a design engineer and project manager, Timo completed the requirements for a Doctoral Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural); he’s currently conducting research in six inter-related areas.
Outside of work, Timo enjoys cross-country skiing, scuba diving, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
