A senior ecologist, Stephen enjoys working with our environmental services teams to implement conservation-minded strategies on a variety of projects. He has more than 30 years of experience in ecological restoration, including owning a restoration business and working with a variety of organizations including Wisconsin Audubon, Great River Greening, and Prairie Moon Nursery.
Stephen has a decade of experience in restoration research at UW-Madison, and teaching classes in conservation, environmental studies, soils, restoration, and landscape design. He has worked in grassland-savanna, wetland, stream, lake, and forest restoration, and has a strong background in conservation working lands. Stephen’s primary responsibilities at Stantec include assisting clients with scoping, designing, and overseeing completion of ecological restoration projects. All totaled, he’s designed, installed, and managed several thousand acres of restoration projects throughout the Midwest.
Outside of work, Stephen enjoys wilderness exploration and the arts.
