As a senior geotechnical engineer, Michelle designs and assesses tailings facilities. She has a long background in tailings management and extensive technical knowledge related to working in challenging geographical and environmental conditions.

Michelle has experience in numerical modelling including static and dynamic liquefaction potential, as well as the influence of time of construction on the performance of tailings facilities. She also has a specialized skillset to interpret advanced in-situ test results and is an expert in designing upstream constructed tailings facilities. As an established leader in the tailings industry, Michelle has written the Anglo-American guidelines for stability analyses considering undrained conditions for static loading conditions. She has also executed several independent expert reviews of tailings designs of projects around the world.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys trail running, hiking, and camping in quiet places.
