Working alongside a group of dedicated colleagues and clients to deliver challenging projects is one of the things Matt enjoys most about his work. As a transport planning specialist with a wide range of experience covering transport assessments, traffic modelling, and GIS, he manages and leads a variety of different projects from small integrated transport assessments to complex detailed business cases.
Matt likens his specialist business case writing to storytelling: he ensures his reports are engaging, focused, and relevant. One example is the State Highway 30 Te Ngae Road business case he wrote for the Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency. The project will improve safety, promote community cohesion, provide appealing walking and cycling options, and support the future growth of Eastern Rotorua. The result? Approval and funding have been granted and Stantec is progressing the detailed design.
Matt loves spending time after work with his young family, running in the local forest, and supporting Exeter City football club.
