Kenny was recently responsible for all the thermal generation, renewables, and power delivery projects in the US. These days, he focuses on supporting key clients and strategic projects, specifically helping clients to transition their energy generation to meet decarbonization and net zero goals. His specialties are in combustion turbines, cogeneration, and combined heat and power projects, and he’s been an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project manager, an expert witness, and an owner’s engineer.
After 45 years in the power industry, Kenny has contributed to a lot of projects—but he’s very proud of the work that’s being done in Puerto Rico by the Stantec team, rebuilding and improving the power grid after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. The gird rebuild program, which is part of Puerto Rico’s GridMod 10-year plan, still has a long way to go, but it will help Puerto Rico modernize its existing assets, including increasing the number of microgrids and amount of renewable generation. The project will position Stantec as a key service provider on the island as they transition to future energy resources.
When Kenny isn’t advancing Stantec’s power offerings, you might find him playing in a senior softball league in Cape Cod in the summer or Florida in the winter. He’s a bicycler and a skier as well, though he’s tending more towards the former as he appreciates the winter cold less and less these days.
