As a senior geographic information systems (GIS) analyst, John has more than 10 years of experience utilizing GIS technologies with much of this directly supporting various aspects of the water resource engineering industry. He has been able to provide communities with data that informs resilient and sustainable decisions.
John’s experience has focused primarily on the use of GIS in floodplain management, like supporting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, mapping flood risk, and using GIS to help quantify and visualize the impacts of flooding. He has enjoyed watching the advancement of GIS and engineering tools used in the water resources profession as well as the enhanced GIS data access, sharing, and integration implemented by many organizations through various Open Data initiatives.
When not working, John enjoys spending time with his family especially at the beach or on the lake, homebrewing, and supporting Philadelphia sports.
