Once, the oceans seemed infinite and unassailable by humanity. Now, our impact on the oceans all-too apparent. Navigating these sea-changes, David’s work takes him across land and the open ocean, providing specialized knowledge to clients for safe and ecologically sustainable sea-facing developments. A renowned ocean scientist, David’s expertise is in the analysis and interpretation of data from measurements and models for tides and sea levels, waves, currents, and aspects of marine meteorology. With experience in coastal oceanography spanning 40 years, the breadth and depth of his experience in oceanographic field work, data analysis, and numerical modelling is unparalleled.
An advocate for engineering technical excellence, David has been a member of the National Committee on Coastal and Ocean Engineering, Engineers Australia, and the Victorian Coastal Council. He has also been a part-time Research Professor for the Centre for Ocean Engineering, Science and Technology at Swinburne University of Technology.
Outside of work, you will not be surprised to find David near the water, enjoying time on the coast and at the beaches he knows so well.
