Bernard coordinates and manages integrity projects for pipelines, facilities, and terminals. He serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in materials selection, corrosion mitigation, welding, and asset integrity, and he leads large-scale offshore and onshore projects from initial concept to final design and construction.
With strong leadership and problem-solving skills, Bernard builds lasting relationships with clients and cross-functional teams. He’s also a recipient of Albian Sands and Shell Canada’s Most Valuable Person (MVP) award for his research work on carbon steel plate cladded with hardened martensitic plate for oil sands slurry transportation pipe.
When it comes to specific projects, he recalls his work on the challenging Mangla Upgrade Hydrodam and the Neptune Cargill Overpass Bridge Design projects—where he was the integrity SME—with pride.
Outside of work, Bernard enjoys hiking, bird watching, gardening, and scuba diving. He also follows Spanish soccer clubs: Barcelona and Real Madrid and the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team.
