Diego is a senior geotechnical engineer in our mining group. As a kid, he always liked to play with dirt and later developed his interest in related classes at university. Nearly two decades later, he works on geotechnical engineering projects for waste dumps, tailings facilities, open pits, foundation, and infrastructure projects.
Not only does Diego enjoy the technical nature of his role, he’s also passionate about developing personal and working relationships with co-workers, clients, and the community, as well as mentoring upcoming engineers, geologists, technologists, and technicians. He believes safe project execution is a team effort. Diego has been involved in projects across the globe—Canada, Peru, Chile, and Australia—working on site investigation, technical design, dam safety management, project management, and team development.
Outside of work, Diego loves the beautiful chaos of raising a family with his wife, two daughters, and their family dog.
