With over two decades of drafting experience, Leland is a senior bridge technologist in the Calgary transportation group, creating detailed design and construction drawings for projects. His career began when a mentor suggested that his experience and skills might be well suited for a drafting diploma, and the rest is history. Since then, Leland has worked on transportation, structural, and urban land development projects.
Leland’s current focus is bridges. Made up of many complex parts that fit precisely together, his passion for this line of work stems from seeing his bridge design drawings constructed and put into use in people’s everyday lives. He enjoys the precise nature of his role and takes immense pride in his work.
Outside of work, Leland enjoys all aspects of fishing—from catching to fly tying and rod building. He also plays the guitar and sings. Leland also serves on local community board.
